TelSoft's UNIX-based call accounting and billing application, MegaCall, is a
fully integrated software and hardware system that is used to track telephone
call activity generated by any type and any number of PBX's. MegaCall tracks
telecom resources from the source of the call record to the assignment of
accountability and enables companies to analyze the call activity (CDR) for
their entire enterprise, domestic & international, from a single centralized
system.
Besides accurately costing, tracking and reporting on any and all types of call
activity throughout an organization, MegaCall includes other valuable management
tools for charging back departments for usage, traffic analysis, the detection
of potential fraud (both internal and external) with alarming features and
telephone bill reconciliation purposes. Other optional modules include full
billing for resellers, switch management for moves, adds and changes (MAC's),
facilities management for work orders, cable diagrams, inventory and asset
management and more.
Since MegaCall processes reports in REAL-TIME versus batch reporting, call
records are immediately available for viewing and reporting allowing users to
monitor and address business, legal, and security issues that need immediate
attention such as 911 emergency calls, internal phone abuse (sexual harassment,
bomb threats, etc.), potential toll fraud and more.
MegaCall's unique RAM-based database technology makes it the fastest Intel-based
system available today. This unique technology compresses and fits large
amounts of call data into RAM and as a result MegaCall performs at unprecedented
speeds,both in the processing of calls as well as in the systems ability to
generate reports in seconds, a task that takes much longer on systems using
conventional, disk-based database technology.
MegaCall comes equipped with its own custom report generator. Users can create
a custom report from scratch, or modify any of the standard reports (over 50),
in order to meet the report criteria desired, thus making the reporting
capabilities of MegaCall virtually unlimited.
The MegaCall system being a multi-user, multi-tasking, web-enabled system allows
for simultaneous call collection and concurrent user sessions. Concurrent users
can simultaneously access the system without having any effect on call
collection or processing. The MegaCall application provides several methods of
access - through the LAN/WAN, a dial-up connection or directly on the server.
MegaCall provides a web-enabled interface employing Tarantella that allows any
number of authorized users, from any remote office, the ability to access the
system directly from their workstation through any Java-enabled web browser.
Users have the option to view the system in either full Motif (GUI) or
character mode.
MegaCall's design offers complete flexibility in meeting the stringent telecom
requirements of any company regardless of size, call volume and number of
PBX's. Due to MegaCall's database and design technology, MegaCall can handle
extremely large volumes of call traffic of any type (many millions per month),
for an entire enterprise-wide network with many PBX's, and still keep 13 months
of data available on-line - all without affecting the system's unparalleled
speed and performance. As an example, MegaCall takes under a minute to generate
a monthly summary report on several million calls.
